After School Clubs
Nunney First School Football Club
Each Monday afternoon 3-4pm Mrs. Andrews and Mrs. Loveless run the school’s Football Club. This is open to boys and girls of all age groups. The children are taught ball control, rules of the game and teamwork. Occasionally some parents will assist in coaching and skills development.
Our team is invited to play against other schools in local tournaments, and at our Summer Fete the team members showcase their skills to parents and friends. There is also a Parents vs school match – which the school usually wins!
Our overriding ambition is to ensure that all the children enjoy the club.
Construction Club runs on a Tuesday 3-4pm with Mrs Garrod or Mrs Andrews and is a great opportunity for creative building using various media.
This club is run by Ms Leakey and gives the children the opportunity to explore and learn about nature and art. The children spend the majority of the time outside, whatever the weather, enjoying music, craft and science activities.
On Thursday afternoons Mr Collier runs a multi-skills club open to pupils of all ages. The club provides the children with the opportunity to experience and develop their fundamental movement skills in a fun and nurturing environment.
Country Dance Club
We are sending a team of dancers to the Somerset Schools’ Folk Dance Festival on Saturday 11th June at Wells and the group has regular practice sessions on a Thursday after school.
Previous after school clubs have included pottery, music, outdoor sport on the field and gymnastics.
