On Tuesday 8th February, Otter Class visited Frome College and took part in a science workshop. The children completed a carousel  of 6 science experiments, each with a different learning focus. These included: investigating the effects of acid on red cabbage juice, using a Bunson burner to burn metal compounds and recording different sound waves. The children had the opportunity to use specialist science equipment, whilst being supported by staff and A-Level students to engage in scientific discussions using appropriate language and vocabulary. They had a brilliant time exploring and really enjoyed the range of fun, hands on activities. It was a fantastic opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skills and gave them an insight into their future science education. One of the children summed the day up brilliantly stating, “It was the best school day ever!”
