On Friday 4th February, Squirrel Class visited Nunney Church and were very kindly given a tour by Caroline – a Church Warden. The children got to stand on the pulpit (where the vicar delivers the sermon on a Sunday), they saw the communion table behind, the amazing stained glass window above which inspired their art last week, the font which is used for infant baptisms and christenings and finally they got to sit in the pews. They also learnt about the bells and a child even got to ring one! Although everyone was very excited, they all remembered to use their quiet voices inside as it is a special place for Christians to be. What a wonderful way to end our Special Places RE topic.
