Always a magical time at Nunney, Christmas 2020 was, despite restrictions, a season with much to celebrate with friends, family and our wider community. With lots of opportunities to make and create, the school was well decked for the festive season!
Kindly donated by NCA (Nunney Community Association) our outside Christmas tree was, once again, a feature of the village, and our many thanks go to our PSA for putting together an exciting array of resources enabling families to create at home, a beautiful range of decorations. The tree really did look quite splendid as the whole school counted down to the switch-on of the lights and sang our Christmas songs to parents waiting at the end of the day.
With a star theme created by the many little stars of Nunney School, our annual Christmas window looked beautiful and was lit up each evening across the festive season.
Contributing towards the All Saints Church Christmas display, Nunney school created a ‘Choir of Angels.’
What excitement! The Nunney Nativity came to the big screen! Despite a few technical hitches, everything came together at the end and everyone was very proud of the final production. We have heard that it has been watched many a time, with some viewings even taking place on Christmas Day!
Of course, no Christmas would be complete without posting our letters to Santa and school Christmas lunch! A huge thank you to our fantastic cooks at Fosse Way Kitchen for cooking us such a delicious dinner. And of course, many thanks to our lovely serving ladies – great teamwork.
Although our annual Christmas Fair was unable to take place, the whole school joined in with great excitement as winners of the Christmas Raffle and the Christmas Tombola were drawn. With a grand total of over £750 raised, we were truly amazed by the generous support received from parents, friends, governors and the village community.
And finally, no Christmas would be complete without watching a pantomime! Although a visit to the theatre in 2020 was not possible, through the kind generosity of the PSA, we were able to enjoy Goldilocks and the Three Bears on the big screen!
